Allergy season is the worst!š
Vocal fry, congestion, and vocal fatigue are only a few of the inconveniences that us singers have to deal with.š
But no worries, I have a few simple tips that can help battle your vocal fatigue before practice, or a big performance!š
Save this blog post so that you can come back to it when youāre getting ready for gigs or performances!
1. Vocal rest. This means no talking, no whispering, no laughing.
No use of the vocal cords whatsoever.
Communicate using paper notes, charades, or anything that works best for you.
But, whatever you do, DO NOT whisper!
This can only make the issue worse.
2. Sleep.Your vocal cords, like any of your other muscles, can only repair themselves if you rest.
Sleep is a universal remedy! š“
3. Small, easy, connected vocal exercises.
When youāre done with vocal rest and ready to start singing again, START SMALL.
However, donāt start out breathy⦠start with low volume, low effort exercises.
But keep it small the first day or two until you feel your voice coming back.
Donāt push it, and youāll be back to normal in no time!
I hope that these tips will help you as much as they help me!
Be kind to your voices, and have a wonderful day!ā¤ļø
